Mitracarpus Scaber
1. History and use
Mitracarpus scaber is used in dermatitis and leprosy treatment in many African countries, and has a worldwide reputation.
2. Description of the plant
It is an annual herbaceous plant 10 to 50 cm tall. The stem bears opposite leaves.Inflorescences are glomeruli found in the axils of leaves.
3. Curative action
The active ingredient against fungal fungi has been isolated in Côte d’Ivoire and the traditional action of the plant is verified.
4. Uses
Mycoses: The stems and leaves of Mitracarpus scaber are crushed and the juice obtained is directly applied to fungal infections.The application should be repeated two or three times a day until fungal infections are resolved.
